FOREST FISH FORDS Traditional flat concrete fords present a difficulty for fish passage, as fish have trouble in negotiating thin laminar flows. The design (see the attached Figure) tries to "pond" low-flow water on the ford and direct the resulting flow through one or two outlet points, thus providing fish passing up or down stream with some depth of water.
